About us

Prodos Recycling s.r.o. specializes in PET plastic recycling and is a key player in the field of sustainability and environmental protection. Its main goal is to provide an efficient and eco-friendly method of processing used PET materials, thus contributing to waste reduction and the preservation of natural resources.

Prodos Recycling s.r.o. not only contributes to ecological balance but also promotes an economy focused on sustainability and the reuse of materials.

Recycling PET is key to minimizing plastic waste

Products made from recycled PET plastics are widely used across various industries. Recycling PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is essential for closing the loop in the circular economy and reducing plastic waste. Here are several common products made from recycled PET materials:

  • New PET bottles and packaging
  • Textile fibers
  • Insulation materials
  • Plastic products and components
  • Construction materials
  • Decorative items
  • Toys and play equipment…

The recycling of PET plastics produces not only the final product known as PET flakes, but also several by-products and materials that can be reused or processed for other purposes, for example:

  • Recycling scrap and residual materials – This scrap is sometimes used as fuel in industrial furnaces or is processed by other methods, e.g., into plastic pallets.
  • High-quality waste for energy recovery – If certain parts of PET waste cannot be fully recycled, they can be used for energy recovery, such as incineration for heat or electricity production. Although this method is controversial but is still used as a way to minimize the amount of waste that would otherwise end up in landfill.
  • Labels (PP or PE) on PET bottles – Labels removed during recycling do not have to become waste. They can be repurposed into plastic packaging, bags, fuel for cement plants, promotional items, decorations, plastic pallets, automotive components, etc.
  • Caps (PP) – Usually made of polypropylene, which is different from PET and requires separate processing. These caps are used in the production of new plastic caps, packaging, furniture, flower pots, garden accessories, etc.

By-products and residues are an important part of the recycling process and show how complex and challenging it can be. The sustainability of recycling is therefore not limited to the production of new products, but also depends on the efficient management of by-products and waste generated during the process

How our PET recycling works in a nutshell

The PET bottle recycling line is a specialized facility designed for the efficient processing and recycling of plastic bottles. The PET recycling process includes the following steps:

  1. Collection and sorting – PET bottles are collected from containers and sorted by color and quality of the plastic.
  2. Shredding and washing – Bottles are ground into small pieces (flakes) and thoroughly washed in hot alkaline water to remove impurities and leftover labels or adhesives.
  3. Drying and granulation – Flakes are dried and, in some cases, melted into granules (regranulate) used as raw material for producing new plastic products.
